Field Trip to NC Museum of Art

On Saturday, February 28th, our “Faith in Public” ministry took a field trip to The NC Museum of Art to see an exhibit called “The Book of Esther in the Age of Rembrandt.

The group decided to learn more about Esther before taking the trip to Raleigh to see the exhibit together. On Thursday, February 12th at 6:30 pm, we hosted a special learning experience about the book of Esther, led by Dr. Anna Marsh, the new Assistant Professor of Religion at High Point University for Old Testament and Jewish Studies.

The exhibit featured many works, mainly by Dutch painters including Rembrandt and many of his students and contemporaries. The exhibit was well annotated and revealed the heroic and inspiring story of Esther and how she risked her life to save her people.

The group stopped for a leisurely lunch afterwards at Bella Monica before heading back to High Point.
