How do I get there?
Our church is located at 1401 Heathcliff Road. From North Main Street, turn South onto W. Lexington Avenue. After 1.4 miles, turn left onto Heathcliff Road. From Westchester Drive, turn South onto W. Lexington Avenue. After .4 miles, turn left onto Heathcliff Road.
Once on Heathcliff Road, we are .3 miles on the right.
Where do I park?
We have plenty of paved parking available in our parking lot, including handicapped spots.
What will happen when I come for the first time?
When you enter, please let any volunteer know it’s your first time, and we would love to welcome you! An usher will hand you a bulletin that includes the entire service. Our pews have comfortable cushions, so we invite you to sit anywhere in the sanctuary you would like.
How should I dress?
You’ll find most of our congregation in casual or business casual attire. Come in what is comfortable for you, because worshipping at Emmanuel is not about what you look like or what you wear.
What are your services like?
Our Sunday morning service is intimate although somewhat traditional: liturgical but not stuffy, with a constant focus on God’s love. We have an organ and piano, and sometimes we have guest musicians. Our choir leads the singing of traditional hymns, and sometimes we have instrumental music from our handbell choir.
The service typically lasts about an hour and 15 minutes and includes music, scripture readings, a sermon, and prayers for the community and the world. We celebrate Holy Communion every week, and all are welcome to participate.
What about my kids?
We love having children join us in worship. Be assured that their noises and joy-filled presence are wonderful additions to our time of worship. Our hope is that they would worship with us in whatever way they are able. If needed, there is an unstaffed nursery space available. It can be found by turning left as you exit the worship space and then turning right at the hallway. There is a speaker, so you can hear worship.
